Technical knowledge and theoretical application of LED plant lamps

 

At present, the types of led plant lamps in the market can be basically divided into three generations:
The first-generation LED plant lamp has a fixed ratio of red and blue light, constant light intensity and DC power supply.
The second generation of constant-current LED plant lamp has a fixed ratio of red and blue light, constant light intensity and constant current power supply. Some orange light or white light are added to the spectrum, further enriching the spectrum. However it turns red and blue, it’s still the basis of a plant lamp, because of its red and blue properties. At the same time, purple light and infrared light are added into the spectrum, which basically meets the requirements of full spectrum and the light intensity meets the whole growth stage of most plants.

LED plant light has the advantages of small volume, light weight, solid state, long life, special wavelength, low driving voltage, high light efficiency, low energy consumption, safety, reliability and durability, and not easy to color decay, and red LED photon has a large luminous flux. In addition, the LED light is Ⅲ, Ⅴ compound light, with a narrow spectrum, spectrum and a half wide range from several nanometers to tens of nanometers, is about 20 nm +, wavelength coincide with morphogenetic spectrum of plant photosynthesis and light. Therefore the LED as plant special-purpose lighting, whether efficiency or effect will have an advantage than the traditional light source, for the traditional light source is generally for the band, if with fluorescent lamp as light source, need to add a filtering to obtain the specific wavelengths of light, this will reduce the utilization ratio of light and the illuminant to be filtered is likely to be converted into the form of heat.
Two key points of plant photosynthesis should be taken into account when designing the intensity of LED plant lamps, one is the light compensation point and the other is the light saturation point.

The above introduces the light compensation point and light saturation point of photosynthesis and the value of some major vegetables at these two points. The specific function of this point is to set the light intensity (or power) in the preparation of LED plant growth lamps according to different plants.
